When I first launched Perkies, I decided to donate 5% of all website sales to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation(BCRF). Rather than simply offer financial support, I decided to learn from breast cancer survivors and pre-vivors. I spoke on the phone with them, I listened to podcasts, I listened to Instagram Lives, and I learned. I learned that many women, post-mastectomy, do not have nipples. They lose a sense of their identity, a piece of their femininity, a part of their confidence. When I created Perkies Nips (patent pending), I had these women in mind.
We've met so many inspiring women along the way and are working with incredible companies (including AnaOno) and organizations to get the word out about Perkies Nips. Thank you to our community for aligning with our vision and for helping us help women regain their sense of self, femininity, and confidence.
This October, Perkies hosted a fundraiser: the inaugural Perkies x The Breast Cancer Research Foundation fundraiser. It was a major success! 💕💕💕
From the guests who bought tickets, to the haikuists writing beautiful individualized haikus for our guests, and to all who contributed to the goodie bags AND silent auction, we are so grateful.
