Meet Julia

“Dreams don’t work unless you do.”

These are the words that Julia Xu has taken to heart. A firm believer in the power of doing, Julia has always taken the first step to her goals with vigor, determination, and excitement. 

Julia’s work ethic has resulted in her gaining experience in multiple industries. Currently working as the Perkies financial consultant, she enjoys building a comprehensive financial model while empowering women – a passion carried over from her years at Brown University. 

“I absolutely love working with the team!” Julia said. “I’m beyond excited about bringing an innovative and functional product to life. We hope to empower women with our products and solve a pain point in the fashion industry. Embracing style without sacrificing comfort.”

Julia particularly loves the people at Perkies; she cited Rosie Mangiarotti’s continuous positivity and drive as some of the most enjoyable aspects. Seeing the progress along the way has been incredibly rewarding, and she’s adored seeing Perkies go from an idea to comfortable, clean sticky bras.

Though she considers San Francisco and Beijing her hometowns, Julia’s recently adopted a nomad lifestyle, staying in AirBnBs near nature, with an eventual goal of making her way to the West Coast. She starts her mornings with water and coffee before feeding her cat and trying not to look at her phone (though she admits she isn’t always successful). 

Her best advice? The future is for the fearless.
